Mr. Chen is a Chinese American who has 19 years diverse international
corporate development, strategic panning, and consulting experience. Mr.
Chen has insights and keen understanding of managing and successfully
closing complex transactions in China and helping multinational companies
strategically expanding in China through mergers & acquisitions.Consultancy Competence
Mr. Chen has expertise in identifying strategic targets/deal sourcing,
joint venture formation/buyouts, structure mergers & acquisition transactions,
senior level negotiation support, valuation, managing due diligence, managing
divestitures, company restructuring, privatization, insolvency, and senior
level advisory on strategic expansion in China. Mr. Chen has sector experience
in transportation, logistics, general infrastructure, consumer goods,
food & beverage, renewable energy, chemicals and technology.Academic Background
Mr. Chen graduated from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (Wuhan,
China) and obtained his MBA degree from Asian Institute of Management
(Manila, Philippines).Professional
Experience
Mr. Chen started his career with Price Waterhouse in Hong Kong, Jamaica
and Poland, specializing in investment advisory, corporate finance, privatization,
valuation, and insolvency practice. While in Poland, Barry held one-year
senior post managing the transition of financial planning and accounting
at Levi Strauss Poland. In Hong Kong, he specialized in China practice,
advising foreign multinationals investing and expanding in China. Mr.
Chen later spent over 10 years with United Parcel Service. While with
UPS, he supported and led successful completion of over 30 M&A and
divestiture transactions in North America, Asia Pacific and European regions.Concurrent Responsibilities
Mr. Chen speaks frequently on China M&A topics at events such as US
China Business Council, Association for Corporate Growth national convention,
American Electronic Association Southeast conference, Supply Chain CEO
Conference. Mr. Chen also serves as Vice President of National Association
of Chinese Americans.InterChina
Role
Mr. Chen joined InterChina in 2008, and concurrently holds the positions
of Corporate Practice Director and Senior Consultant. He is based out
of InterChina’s Shanghai Office. |
