David J. Hofmann is the Director of InterChina Consulting North America LLC and leads business development efforts for the North American market. Mr. Hofmann is based in Washington DC and travels frequently to China on behalf of clients and acts as the client liaison for all North American clients, providing insights on the market and deal origination opportunities from his 30 years of experience and extensive contact network. He is also a member of InterChina's Management Committee. Mr. Hofmann brings to InterChina's clients over 25 years of experience working in operational positions in both large and small China focused enterprises since the early 1980's. His experience includes on the ground operational management positions in the textile and apparel, automotive, refractory and healthcare sectors and has included 18 years of residence in Beijing, Dalian and Hong Kong. Mr. Hofmann brings a unique current and historical perspective to client engagements and is actively involved in providing input and insights into China operational considerations faced by our Strategy and Advisory clients and focuses on cross-cultural issues surrounding M&A transactions. Mr. Hofmann has been actively involved in advising clients in the automotive, mining, healthcare and food & beverage sectors and has been instrumental in closing transactions in those sectors. Over his tenure in China, Mr. Hofmann served as a Vice-President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China from 1995-1998 as well as Chairman of Amcham Hong Kong's China Business Committee (1998-2000) and Healthcare Committee (2002-2004). In the early 90's he also served as President of the American Club. Immediately prior to InterChina, Mr. Hofmann served as the Managing Director of Chindex Hong Kong, prior to which he served as the Administrative Director of China Operations for Chindex International as well as an integral member of the Chindex team which in 1998 established the Beijing United Family Hospital. He served as the General Manager of Dalian Morgan Refractories Ltd. as well as in China business development for Chrysler Corporation. Mr. Hofmann is an American and holds an MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business as well as a BA from James Madison College, Michigan State University. He is a fluent mandarin speaker with an extensive network of senior level contacts throughout major US and Chinese enterprises. |
