Characterization
Mr. Hofmann is an American national who was based in China for an aggregate of 15 years and has substantial and comprehensive general management experience in China. Mr. Hofmann speaks English and Mandarin.

Consultancy Competence
Mr. Hofmann has service expertise in company establishment, joint venture management, operations and cross-cultural communication. Meanwhile, Mr. Hofmann has sector expertise in automotives, chemicals and healthcare, among others.
 
Academic Background
Mr. Hofmann graduated from Michigan State University (United States) with a Bachelors Degree in International Relations, and then obtained his MBA from the Columbia University Graduate School of Business (United States).

Professional Experience
Mr. Hofmann’s general management experience in China began in the 1980s as the Dalian based Production & Logistics Manager of the Lemar Apparel Group, an American garment manufacturer. Since then, he has worked with Chrysler in Detroit & Beijing on the Beijing Jeep Project, and as the General Manager of Dalian Morgan Refractories, a joint venture refractory manufacturer in Dalian. More recently, Mr. Hofmann has been with Chindex, the parent company of the United Family Hospitals, firstly as the Project Manager for the Beijing United Family Hospital project and then as the General Manager in Hong Kong.

Concurrent Responsibilities
Whilst based in China, Mr. Hofmann served as a Vice-President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China – Beijing Chapter (1995-1998) and the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong – China Business Committee (1998-2000) and Healthcare Committee (2002-2004).

InterChina Role
Mr. Hofmann joined InterChina in 2005, and concurrently holds the positions of North America Director and Senior Consultant. He is based out of InterChina’s Washington DC Office.
