Characterization
Mr. Morcillo is a Spanish national who has been working in China consultancy since 1998. Mr. Morcillo speaks Spanish, English and Mandarin.

Consultancy Competence
Mr. Morcillo has expertise in corporate transactions (joint venture formation/buyouts, structure mergers & acquisition transactions, senior level negotiation support, valuation and company restructuring) and senior level advisory on strategic expansion in China.
 
Academic Background
Mr. Morcillo graduated from Carlos III University in Madrid (Spain) with a Bachelors in Law, and then from the University of Newcastle (United Kingdom) with a Masters in International Finance. Mr. Morcillo has an Executive MBA from IESE Management School (Spain), and has received executive education at CEIBS Management School in Shanghai (China).

Professional Experience
Mr. Morcillo worked for Sinclair Roche & Temperley in the United Kingdom and Credit Suisse Asset Management in Spain before moving to China in 1998 to work for the Spanish Commercial Office as an Investment Analyst in Beijing. Mr. Morcillo then worked for InterChina in Beijing, Shanghai and Spain.

Concurrent Responsibilities
Mr. Morcillo has served as the Chairman of the European Union Chamber of Commerce - Trade & Distribution Working Group (2001-2004) and the Vice-President and Secretary General of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in China - Shanghai Chapter (2002-2004). He is Associate Professor at Instituto de Empresa (IE Business School) and has also been Associate Professor of Asian Studies at Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. Mr. Morcillo is a frequent commentator in the media on China business issues and author of various journal articles and books.

InterChina Role
Mr. Morcillo joined InterChina in 2000, became a Partner in 2008, and concurrently holds the positions of Corporate Practice partner in charge and Spain Office Director. He is based out of InterChina’s Madrid Office.
